Historic inflation – CPI inflation year pages
|
Overview of historic inflation (CPI) - This page features an overview of historic inflation year pages. The historic inflation rates are based upon the consumer price index (CPI). The index is a measure of the average price which consumers spend on a market-based ‘basket’ of goods and services. Inflation based upon the consumer price index (CPI) is the main inflation indicator in most countries. With the help of the CPI inflation year links in the table you will be directed to a page showing:
- the annual inflation: comparing the december CPI to the december CPI of the year before and
- the average inflation: average of the monthly inflation rates of a calendar year
Using the tabs you can switch between the historic CPI inflation year page overview and the historic HICP inflation year page overview. In case you are interested in an overview of the current inflation (CPI) by country, click here.
